Our Team.

At 52 AOD we are passionate about changing the narrative around violence and creating a safe space for our youth to learn how to defend themselves. Our founding members are dedicated to curbing the violence in the greater Atlanta area through teaching the art of defense. Our founder Lyte Burly has been studying martial arts for over 30 years and our co- founder is a master numerologist and has over 10 years of martial arts experience. Our secretary is an accountant and hair stylist with a direct link to the youth. Together, our trio has found a way to bridge the gap between martial arts and the youth of our community.

Master Lyte Burly has been practicing various Martial Arts styles with a heavy focus on Boxing for over three decades. He applies his knowledge daily by sparring with practitioners using different styles and backgrounds, one of a few Masters that are always willing to put on the gloves to spar with strangers. He has put in thousands of hours of training and continues to do so.

His students have won local competitions as well as The Golden Gloves.

Here are some of the styles he has practiced: Tai Chi, Xing Yi, Pa Kua Chang, Wing Chun, Kickboxing, Boxing, Wrestling.

Tyraine El AKA Coach Ty is a Moorish American who has a background in Jujitsu, Xing Yi Qi Gong & 52 AOD under Master Lyte Burly and is a Junior 52 Blocks Instructor.

As a child growing up in Hampton, Va., he has always had a love for math and numbers.  Studying math until his senior year in college gave him the mathematical aptitude to really understand what math is.  Math is science and science means "to know."  This understanding has led to a discovery of how our everyday lives are governed by numbers.  This profound understanding of numbers combined with his background in martial arts "both internal and external," has made him a sought-after individual from people of all walks of life.  Tyraine has dedicated his life to the service of others and in uplifting fallen humanity.  As a life coach with a focus on Health, Wealth and Knowledge Of Self he is here to offer his time, services and compassion.

When Tyraine is not serving the community, he can be found serving the real estate needs of his diverse clients in the greater Atlanta area!

Coach ATL began his martial arts journey in his preteens by studying wall fighting (a variant close quarter combat system) which was taught by his older Cousin. In his early and late teens, He trained in Taekwondo under Sensei Keith Jenkins and Black Belt instructor Frank Burton. Coach ATL takes deep pride in training the fundamentals. The fundamentals are the foundation and blueprint of overall performance and achievements.

Coach ATL continued his martial arts training under Grand Master Lyte Burly. He trained in the 52 AOD (Art of Defense) for over a decade. He is a proud member of the 52 AOD family. Coach Atl Believes that with confidence and consistency anything a person wants to pursue is obtainable. One of his most significant rewards is training and watching his students grow to be the better versions of themselves.

Coach ATL believes after mastering the basics of self-protection, a person(s) should give back to the community in order to obtain pride, focus, strength, discipline, and confidence in our youth. Youth is our hope to a brighter future, it's up to prior generations to instill the moral compass for our youth's success. The first step towards any goal is usually the most challenging but each step after makes the journey of life worth it! He believes how you manage  challenges  describes your true character.
